Dave O'Flynn: Bass Trombone

David, who is originally from Fetcham in Surrey, first started playing cornet in a local brass band and progressed through Euphonium and Tuba to end up on Bass Trombone. After years in Brass Bands he started playing in Orchestras and Big Bands in London until he moved further south to Worthing.
After playing for a number of years in Horsham Brass Band, David gave up banding and joined the Ronnie Smith Big Band. After many happy years with Ron, he 'upped sticks' and went off travelling around the world for a year with his wife Margaret.

David used to teach a youth wind band in East Grinstead and has played in places as diverse as 'the back of a lorry', 'the Lord Mayor's Show', 'Upper Hutt Brass Band, Upper Hutt, New Zealand' and the Royal Albert Hall!

'My philosophy is simple, if I don't enjoy it, I don't do it'!
